Aluminum head questions

Good afternoon, guys. I had a couple questions that I though I would present to you all. I am switching over to ProComp aluminum heads on my 350 and was wondering what head gaskets worked well with these. The block was trued up about 1500 miles ago, so there should be no sealing worries with that. Also, I know that the Performer intake can not be used, but would an Edelbrock OL4B work? That is what I have on it currently and it is in really nice shape for its age. Thanks for the input guys! Here is a photo of what the engine currently looks like, and I am contemplating painting the new heads to match the block and keep with the sleeper look.

Check out Rainbows thread. he is installing the same heads on a 455 but the blocks are similar with the 455 only having a higher deck height.

Other the cleaning up the heads as mentioned plus having the heads checked as described.

Also note that you will have to run a electric fuel pump on the 350 because a mechanical pump will not fit with out notching the head into the water jacket and having it welded (this is an option you will have to consider). This is not a problem with the 455 because of the higher deck height

The thread is a good read, but doesn't answer the gasket and intake question. Thanks, though and I already installed an electric fuel pump when I was considering running spray. I might have some mild port work done on the heads to bump the flow a little.

Which Edelbrock gaskets? I was more looking along the lines of Cometic or SCE or Mr. Gasket. I was looking to see if anyone had better luck with one type vs. the other. I was looking at going with the Cometic steel type since they have a .027 crush thickness. This way I would have to take less off the head to get my compression where I want it to be.

Ok, let me know. Otherwise, I will probably take it with me up to the Jefferson swap meet this April.

And I think I deleted my previous post instead of editing it. Computers and I don't always get along!
