Accelaration/idle problems

Sorry if this is already a thread but I have not logged on in a few months.
When I start my car at first it runs just fine, but when I get on the road,
it has a lot of trouble accelarating. Then sometimes if I come to a stop it dies.
I don't know if it's just the carb or distributor. I'm buying a new distributor anyway because mine is old. Does anyone have any clues on how to fix this?
I'm running an eldelbrock 1406 650 cfm carb on a 350 rocket. Please help so I can get my dream car back on the road. Thank you.

A few things to check. Fuel filter, timing, points, or spark plugs and wires.

Need more input.

Choke? vaccume leak? After it stalls, is it hard to restart, like pumping the gas or holding it to the floor?
Try to give some specifics. Stinks like fuel, bogging, backfiring, shaking, etc.

I would think it would carburetor related instead of ignition related since it starts fine but once the engine is warm it tries to die. I would reset your idle mixture screws with a vacuum gauge and then set your idle. See if that helps.

Yes it is hard to restart. It bogs down really bad.
