79 trans am. Help please

I have a 79 trans am with a fresh 403 and I deleted most of the accesories and pollution crap. I Need help knowing where all the wiring goes. If possible can someone post some pics? My main concern is wiring to oil pressure sending unit, alternator, and temp switch. It doesnt help that the wires are not dummy proof.

O.K, the oil pressure sending unit is the blue wire, the water temp sending unit is the green. The alt has the plastic plug with the red wire.

Ok so I have some more of the wires hooked up and I got the dash lights and buzzard horn to come on but I cant turn the key to start the car. Steering column seems to be locked. I have a 700r4 transmisson and b&m shifter. I dont have any of the wires to the shifter hooked up yet. Will this cause the steering column to lock?

With the trans swap, have you hooked up the column linkage? IF YOU ARE JUST USING THE SHIFT CABLE, THE COLUMN WILL NOT BE IN THE PARK POSITION THUS NOT ALLOWING THE KEY TO WORK. Sorry, the caps lock was on.....

Will the old shifter column linkage attach to the 700r4 bracket?

The linkage runs from the column in the engine compartment next to the firewall down to a hole in the subframe then to the trans. When you use the shifter to put the car in Drive, it spins the column clockwise as you're sitting in the drivers seat. Try this, as you're sitting in the drivers seat, put your hand on the bottom of the column and rotate it counter clockwise. This will simulate the car being in Park and allow the key to work.

man, that motor looks cool. yeah you should have that oil pressure sending unit sticking up out of the cast-in timing chain entension housing at the front of the motor(drivers side). you'rs might have that 45 degr. brass nipple on it, put the blue wire on there. the engine water temp.(green wire) connects onto the sending unit that is screwed in the friont of the intake manifold, usually the bottom portion is brass colored. then that heavy red wire which usually has a brown wire running along with it goes into the side of the altenator, then ther's another one with a ring terminal that bolts to the back of the altenator. what about the one that goes to the original carb. solenoid for cars equipped with A/C?
