cutloose kid

in a wiz kid when it comes to 2008 and newer. i have had this project for 5 years now it was tunning on the diesel motor till i tried to pull a tree up.
just dropped a small black 350 in it. got 90 percent of the wiring going good.

my issue is, i have no idea where the negative gose to from the distributer. i sight wired it to the battery just to test the motor. it ran 12 volts with key on
7.4 when tried to start. and there is no spark.

any possible solutions?

First welcome to the site. I'm assuming a small block Olds. What dist are you running? Normally the wire frm the dist is connected to the neg side of the coil. Depending on what ignition you are running you need either bat + 12v or you use a ballast resister in series with your bat+.
