350 Build in the Future

Picked up from Oldzzy a 1970 350 block and crank for a good deal on Monday. Drove up to his house and we loaded it in the van to go home , he even gave me the storage crate he built with wheels on it ! Great guy eh?
I've got some ideas on what i want the motor to be and it'll be a street build with 9-9.5 to 1 compression max ,smallish cam 214-220 duration ,around 450-475 lift , number 6 or 7 heads , aluminum intake and my Quadrajet.I'm aiming for the 1200-5500 rpm range .
I'm not in any hurry so I 'll take my time collecting the pieces as funds come along. Builder and machining to be determined .

sounds like a nice plan for a cruiser engine with plenty of grunt.

I'm just a couple hrs away from you, looking forward to seeing how things come together as to the parts sourced as well as being used and which machine shop you will be using.

Thanks guys , after following on here about everybody else's builds and what they were trying to achieve I have a pretty good idea on which direction to go. A couple of things I want to do to my car first though is change the rear end gears to gear that will be more suited to the motors rpm range. There's 2:73 's in there now I believe so going to a 3:23 or maybe 3:42 will be a good switch along with a posi. The crank I bought with the block has provisions for a 4 spd so at some point that's what I'd like to put in it.Bench seat 4 spd sounds kinda cool eh?

I vote for the 3:42's and the 4 speed!
