Hello,
I've just taken possession of my '73 Delta 88, has a small block 350,
I'm probably going to have many questions down the track, but first off,
noticed the dip stick sleeve is loose from the block, bit of a bugger of a
spot to get to, haven't investigated fully, looks like its meant to lock in
somehow with a bump & recess type setup, anyone had this happen,

regards, Cus

They are just stuck in the block.
I have had them come a little loose
before. If they aren't broken at the block
a few love taps on top of the tube with
a piece of hardwood to soften the blow
should get you fixed up. Good luck, welcome
and post a few pics of your car when you get a chance.

That's common. May give you a slight leak from splashing.

Much easier to ignore it than to fix it.

Does it look original or is it chrome aftermarket?

Well, fired it up on the weekend after oil & filter change, new plugs etc.,
runs really well, very quiet & smooth, still haven't got to the brakes, so just
static running. Generator light coming on though, put the meter on it,
was returning about 12.8v, (at idle) is that enough?

regards, Cus

No, it should be at least a volt higher. The 350 is a very good motor but too small for your car.
