'72 vs. '76 Crank

Is a stock crank from '76 350 as good as one from an earlier '72 350? I keep hearing the term "nodular crank" applied to the earlier crank, but is the later '76 crank just as good?

Supposedly the N cranks are stronger. If you are doing a stroker, you may as well do up a 330 crank, just make sure you get the flex plate with it. I got mine through Smitty at M&J Prooformance. He provided a core and got it off set for me. It was reasonable cost wise.

Nodular Iron

Supposedly is the key word, from what I have gathered from Machinists and foundry workers, the cast legend is an "old wives tale". The cast cranks up through 1976 should be of the same quality. In 1977 with the "R Motor" the engines lost 47 lbs. of their weight.

Jack:
I was thinking the '72 and the '76 cranks would be of similar construction.
