72 Cutlass motor question

72 Cutlass motor question

I have a 72 cutlass convertable,350,auto,no A/C.What side of the motor should the alternator be on,and what color should the motor be.THANKS

On a non A/C car the alternator is on the pass. side.

I think it should still be gold in 72.
And yes the alt is on the passenger side with no A/C.

The Rocket is golden in '72. I think in '73 they went to metallic blue.
The brackets are all semi-gloss black, the Eastwood underhood black is just right, works great for the bottom of the hood too.
I don't know what color the spider webs are supposed to be? It's hard to tell in John's pics.

Small blocks have never been metallic blue. They were gold until the corporate blue (non-metallic) in the mid-1970s.

Never? Bought a 1 owner 76 Cutlass in 79 that came with a metallic blue 350 with #8 heads.

Never from the factory. Again, the corporate pale blue was used, but not the metallic blue from the 455s.
