71 Cutlass Engine Swap

Hi guys, Im looking to put something a little newer and bigger in my 71 Cutlass Supreme. Is there any new motors that that I could drop in without to much modification?

I don't understand your question? Any Olds motor will drop in.

Also, any motors newer than '71 will have lower compression and performance.

Usually with a '71, you want to drop in an older motor.

The thing is, I was looking to pull the motor out of a newer(2008+) Corvette or Camaro with a computer. But I didnt know if GM had changed the mounts. It would be easyer to maintain and find parts for.

I used an L59 (iron block LSx motor), but same thing applies to the aluminum blocks.

This needs to be moved to the Non-Olds-Powered section before all hell breaks loose.

I don't know about the easier to maintain part, and there are no issues in getting parts to any older Olds engine or most engines from 60's thru the 70's. Most of us like the older cars for the simplicity and ease of maintenance, no computers, sensors,...etc.

There are a great number of threads regarding the LS swaps in the non-olds powered section. From what I understand they are not too problematic depending on trans choice.

I swapped an LS1/4L60E into my '72 Cutlass S. A few road bumps but otherwise its very straight forward.
