69 Cutlass 350 timing set

I have a 69 Cutlass Rocket 350

Holley 650 4bbl
SD full electronic ignition (no vacuum advance)
Big Thumper cam
2200-2800 stall torque convertor
3.42 gears w/posi
I run high octane gas 92 or above.

What's a good starting point for my timing?

First thing I would do is get a vacuum advance distributor. It is never going to run as good as it can without it on the street.

Then somewhere in the 12 degree range ?? Every engine is different due to cams, carburetors etc.

It depends on how much mechanical advance is built into the distributor. What distributor are you using?
