67 Cutlass engine code

Hey guys, trying to find out my engine code and match it to the shop book looking for some guidance
1. code from passenger side head is "W481074G"
2. The shop book says the "W" is for 33800 series, so far so good, matches the plate on the firewall.
3. The shop book does not list codes that begin with a "4", big question
4. The engine is a 330, 4 bbl, gold paint, it had an air cleaner that seems original that said High compression on it, 2 speed auto jetaway trans.

That's what I have any help is always gratefull

thanks Brian

The digits are not a "code", they are simply the sequential unit number of that particular engine. The fact that it starts with a "4" and not a "3" simply means that Olds built more than 100,000 of them that year. If you have the Protect-O-Plate, this engine unit number will be keyed to the VIN; otherwise, it really doesn't mean much. The W prefix (330 motor) and G suffix (10.25:1 CR with 4bbl carb) are the codes that matter.
