66 330 engine compression ratio
I have the chance to pick up a 1966 330 with 43k original miles. The engine has #3 heads and the original 4 barrel carb and manifold. According to my Motor's manual, there were two different 330 4 barrels made in 1966. One had 9:1 compression and 310hp. The other had 10.25:1 compression and 320hp. Does anybody know a way to tell the difference between these two engines without taking it apart? What do you guys think this engine is worth (66 330 4 barrel with 43k miles)? Thanks!!

Seriously though, what do you guys think this engine is worth? Is there any way to tell a high compression 330 from a low compression 330 without taking it apart? Thanks!!

I was referring to the two different four barrel 330s, the engine is an original four barrel.
Anybody have any idea on what it is worth? (untouched with 43k miles, carb to pan with brackets and accessories no A/C)
Thanks for the info!

hey if it has the original carb still on it get the number and look it up on
TheCarbeuratorDoctor. com The high performance versions had different carb numbers than the standard engines. I found that my carb was for a hi po 330 motor. Although 320 hp isnt exactly hi performance. Hope this helps.
