The 371 has a 5-9 psi electric fuel pump inline to the std mechanical fuel pump. Basically a transfer pump from gas tank to fuel pump. There is also a milesmaster fuel pressure regulator at the 2 barrel carb. Will the carb handle 5-9 psi if i eliminate the mechanical pump? Also where can i find a cover plate for the fuel pump mount? And what the heck is a milesmaster ?

If you are looking for a block off plate for your fuel pump get one for a big block Chevy. That is what I used on my 54 and should work on a 371.

 

I am guessing that fuel pressure regulator is on your car for a reason. 5 PSI might be plenty of pressure for the 2 barrel, perhaps to much pressure. Others will chime in with more wisdom.
