52/98 help

Ihave a 52 olds 98 that the engine and trans are bad in .What model of later model olds drive train would fit in the chassis the easiest. Im not interested in an all out tire shredder just a good solid dependable performer and what are the pitfalls if known,Also does anyone know what kind of auto trans would mate to the 303 besides the hydromatic if I decide to keep it in the car. Any help you can give would be appreciated

Any 1949 thru 1964 303 324 371 or 394 engine will bolt right in. If you want a more modern automatic transmission, look into ross racing engines. They supply more modern transmissions that bolt right up to the 303 and as an option use stock transmission mounts
