5.7 L diesel LT9 from 1982 Tornado

Can any one tell me if this block is the same as the Lf9 block that came out in most rear wheel drive units of about the same year 78 to 85 ? Long term plan is to convert to gas and install in Olds Rat rod .Long term plan to fill retirement days.Thanks for any assistance

Yes, the Toro blocks are exactly the same as the equivalent RWD blocks. The differences for the Toro applications are all bolt-on. The oil pan and pickup are different, the oil filter adapter is different, and the starter is on the passenger side. In the case of the starter, the Toro starter mounting is on the trans bellhousing; the block still retains the normal driver's side starter mounting features used in RWD applications. And all Olds blocks have the same motor mount attaching bolt holes.
