Thumbs up 455 heads on 403

i was just wondering how well will some G heads off of a 71' 455 work on a 403?can i boost the compression with these heads???

You'd be way better off using small block heads. You won't gain compression with the BBO heads.

Why is everyone so fixated on compression instead of port flow? I've always said that if the BBO heads worked on a 400 big block, they should work equally well on a 403 small block. Yeah, there's no increase in CR, but there's no decrease, either. If you're building the 403 from scratch, select pistons to get the desired CR with the 80 cc chambers on the BBO heads. And you probably already know that only a few SBO intakes have sufficient meat to port them to match the BBO heads.

Joe you're not allowed to use logic. This is the instant gratification era where everything must be handed to you in triplicate. You're almost sounding old and farty like me.

You made me chuckle fellas.

Just answering his question.

403+Gheads does not equal more compression.

I think the whole small block head vs big block head on a 403 debate boils down to money and effort.

It's a lot easier for people to swap heads, than it is to swap pistons.
If the engine is removed, then all the mightaswells would start to play differently.
