Sweet. If she ran 10.60s with the old motor what do you expect out of the new motor?

If HP estimates are close.....it should run 9.80s on a good day. But there are no guarantees

Excellent specs....a real stump puller. You should fly down the 1/4.

Thumbs up

Impressive motor just as I knew it would be.

Do you plan on making an attempt to take some of the wheelie out of it, if it doesn't get into the 9's?

My car has always liked bring up the front end. It has ladder bars on it so it will always like the violent launch. It would take a 4-link to keep the nose down and get traction. What fun is that?

Oh yea, I vaguely remember an article many years ago by Mondello building a motor using a 350 diesel block. Unfortunately I lost that article.

Great run! You will now have to change your website header
(aka- Pure-Olds-Power for our 10-second Cutlass.)

to 9 second Cutlass. Are you running any fiberglass panels or bumpers or is that pure iron??

Thanks guys. It took a lot of planning, help from friends and of course money

The car has glass hood, bumpers and lexan windows. The fenders, doors and trunk lid have all been lightened. The car started out weighing 3780 w/o driver in 1984. Currently weighs 3260 with driver

Wow 520 pounds not counting the driver and with a driver at about 200lb that's 720 or almost a second as we use to figure 1/10 sec for every 80 lbs reduction. Does that sound about right?

Here is article #3

http://www.dragracingonline.com/tech...ldstech-1.html

We are going out both days this weekend so Jok can get some more seat time. To say I have been grinning ever since those first few passes is an under estimate

Yes........Only launching off the brake pedal @ 2200. Last year launched @ 4200 off the trans brake. Jok is shifting @ 7000, it's power peaked @ 7400 on the dyno. Also in the spring or fall the adjusted altitude should come down more too. I'll bet there might be a 9.6? in it. Kinda sorta rule is one tenth per 1000 ft of adj alt. Very seldom do we get down to sea level air around here.
