403 0.030" over pistons

I have a 403 that used to belong to a buddy. It was installed in the '70 in my sig. The reason I have the car is he blew a head gasket 10 years ago and parked it. With water on top of one piston. Fast forward 10 years later and he wants to sell the car. He sold it to me for a song and now I have the engine apart. It has worked #6 heads, main straps, JM-20-22 cam and he said it ran awesome when he built it. Now that it/s apart, the water (he didn't know about) sat on top of that piston. The cylinder is ok, but that piston needs to be replaced along with the ring pack (damaged the piston getting it out).

Question: Is there a way to buy just one 0.030" over KB piston and rings? Or do i have to buy a whole new set? I really just need to rehone that cylinder and put in a new piston/rings. I was hoping to not have to buy a whole new set of eight pistons and rings. Any suggestions?

Well, I should have done more in depth searching. Since I first posted, I was able to find that Jeg's had a single 0.030" over piston/pin in stock. Hit the order button. I also found a single ring pack (Hastings) from a Barnett Performance. I also ordered the cylinder hone.

Should have this running next weekend.

Glad to see you found one separate. Was the piston stuck?

Somewhat stuck. Since I beat on it some and it had some corrosion on it I didn’t want to reuse it. I’ll get some pics of the bore in the morning.
