350 water pump

350 water pump

i bought a awater pump for my olds 350 but the pulleys dont line up anymore ?? anybody else with this problem this water pump appears longer ???

Did your car have factory A/C? I think this is a common issue - the heater only cars' pumps are shortest, A/C cars are longer (and more popular!)
Also make sure the spacer between the power steering bracket and block was installed.

Yeah you need to make sure you got the same pump as you pulled off the car. If not go back to the parts store before they send your core back so you can get it right.

Again you need to grab the old one to compare. Check different years both with and without A/C. You'll find the correct one.

i figured that much just woundering if possibly there might be pulleys available or if i need to fin an ac car and rob the pulley i plan to put ac one day

Part of the problem is there are 3 different length water pumps. It's going to be easier to just go back to the store and get the pump that matches the one you removed.

A new pulley won't fix your problem.

Get the right water pump.

Use a complete set of A/C pulleys.

Absolutely, or it won't play nice with the new pulleys.
