350 swap questions

350 swap questions
I have a few questions regarding the exchange of a 350/350 from my '72 Cutlass Supreme with the 350/400 from my '70 442:
1. I understand the TH350 and TH400 are different lengths. I will be swapping the driveshafts as well. There's a 10-bolt in the '72 and an o-type 12-bolt in the 442. 2 questions:
A. same trans crossmember used on both transmissions? Different location?
B. will the driveshaft from my '72 fit the O-type 12 bolt in the 442? Same u-joints?
2. There's a 2-line fuel pump in my '72 and a 3-line pump in the 442. Do I need to retain the pumps in each car?
Sorry for the rookie questions. I might be attempting my 1st engine swap.

You can swap over the fuel pump from the 350 if you like, but personally I would get a new one for a 455 for the 72....piece of mind stuff.
The driveshaft unfortunately will be an issue. The pinion lengths are different on the rear ends and the TH400 is longer so just swapping the driveshaft yoke from one shaft to the other won't work.
It's actually too bad you are on the other side of the country as I just happen to have a shaft that would fit your application in the garage, but you would need to swap the yoke as I destroyed it finding out the information I just posted. The 70 shaft is actually too long and the yoke would bottom out on the output shaft and really mess up the trans. You could either have your shaft cut down 1" or have a new one made. Personally I would have a new one made and be done with it. It's gonna cost a couple hundred bux, but it's worth it.

FYI this is what happens when you go from a 72 rear end to a 70 O-type and do nothing with the drive shaft.

I believe you can swap drive shafts from the T400 car and press on. I don't know in the Ujoint, but they are easy enough to change.

You can just swap fuel pumps.
