350 Intake Maifold Identification Question

I have a 1970 cutlass S with the original 350 4bbl. It has a unbranded intake manifold on it and I was wondering what it is exactly. It is aluminum with 22528212 stamped on the front with CFB9 below it. The firing order is also stamped on the rear. If someone knows what brand this intake is or what it is off please let me know.

does it look like this ?? If so, it may a FACTORY Olds 350 alumin. intake. Altho the seller says it was for the 80's small block cars. Maybe some of the small block members on here can shed some light on the facts...

Pretty sure that is an A5 307 intake, later model with the small ports. Yes, you are better off with a 350 cast iron one, IMO.

Search and find the INTAKE thread of recent post

Every one is pictured.

'212 I believe is the puny-port A5.

If you have heads other than 2A, 6A, or 7A, it's not compatible.

I do have the number 6 heads so I should probably change that. Do perfomer rpm intakes work well with stock components other than a very mild cam and headers?

Yes. IMO, it's a good intake for almost any mildly modded SBO.

I can't believe there's someone on ebay asking $295 for an A5 intake....

Sounds like the classic 2bbl => 4bbl swap with "whatever manifold is handy at the junkyard today" - never mind details like port size.

You may lose some off-idle grunt but should be better in every other way with an intake that has full size ports.

Try your daily jog with one nostril blocked off...

The car is a original 4bbl car I have the original intake. Maybe he thought the aluminum one looked cool but I think I will invest in a edelbrock. Thanks for the input

Will the edelbrock 7111 even fit my car with the stock non oai hood? And some people have said that milling is required for it to fit. Is this true?

The intake will fit fine but you will most likely have to go with a drop base air cleaner. No milling should be required, but depending on some factors, it's possible it may have to be done, but unlikely.

Here's my engine with the 7111 intake manifold and aftermarket air cleaner. The air cleaner used to be chrome (back in the 80s) but I painted it to match the engine. No hood clearance issues. No milling was required for it to seal up.

Why not just put the original intake back on? Seems simpler and cheaper. Looks better too (IMHO).

Thanks for the pic looks good. I do not want to go to the stock one because it weighs a ton and I am looking for a little bit more performance.

Then a good choice is the factory W31 aluminum intake.

Or, if you want to save a few hundred dollars, the "A4" intake which is exactly like your A5 except with larger ports, an "A4" instead of "A5", and a different casting number. They run $25-40 at the boneyards here.
