350 Hesitates

350-4. Idles nice. Big hesistation on throttle, then either dies, or RPM goes up and also runs smooth. Seems starved for fuel. Please advise if it is more likely fuel pump or carb, or please make suggestions. Thanks much. Paul

Have you done anything recently to it?? Does it have points or electronic ignition, Is your dwell/timing correct, vacuum leaks? Is your vacuum adv. working properly? It may not be a carb issue!

Oldcutlass is right could be a lot of other things causing this problem. You also need to be a little more specific as to when these problems occur to get any good advice.

BUT, all of the above being completely correct, and needing to have been said, if it IS your carburetor, sounds like a bad accelerator pump or maybe blocked transition ports.
