Does anyone have a 65 330 and running a edelbrock rpm? How is it with clearance with stock hood?

It is about 2" taller than stock. You will probably need a drop base air cleaner.

I doubt you'll need a drop base. The BBO is an inch taller and it fit in the 1965 442s with room to spare, even with the huge OEM air cleaner. And keep in mind that airflow improvements from a taller intake are negated by a drop base air cleaner that puts the underside of the lid closer to the carb air horn. People don't seem to understand that inlet air flow needs to account for the ENTIRE inlet path, not just part of it.

I realized 65 was the year they introduced the BBO after I posted it. I agree, a drop base is not ideal. A stock single snorkel is also far from ideal. It isn't hard to make a dual snorkel, I combined an 80's 307 and late 70's 260 air cleaner to make one. Very similar to mid 70's version Oldsmobile made. Good info.
