324 ballast resistor

Can anyone tell me the acceptable voltage range on the coil side of the ballast resistor when the ignition switch is in the 'run' position?

From: Colorado

5-7 volts with points closed. Battery voltage with points open.

Source: 1956 shop manual.

Thanks, Highwayman! I took it apart and found a loose connection. All fixed and the engine runs.
