307 rough start

When it turns over its extremely rough like shakes the car. Its fine after I give it a little gas but it seems like not all the cylinders are firing right away or something. Any ideas?

Is this on a cold start or does it do it all the time at idle?
How the performance of the car in general?
Give us some more clues to work with so we can help better.
I once had a rough idle after a cold start and the choke was adjusted slightly richer, never a problem after then.

Sounds like it is running lean.
Check for vacuum leaks in the miles of vacuum hoses first. Hoses disconnected or cracked.
Also check the hard plastic lines that go from the engine compt by the AC fan motor into the firewall, as those like to break.

Next make sure the carb mounting nuts are snug. Do not make very tight tho...

Any check engine lights? I assume not.
Once the computer takes over after warming up, it can compensate for the leak so it will run normal then.

Let us know what you find!
