my engine hesitates when i floor it.....possible porblems?

Did Olds still use a carburetor in '85? If so, it might be the accelerator pump on the carb or just simply a carb rebuild would help. If not, then perhaps timing advance? But, if your car has fuel injection instead of a carb it probably has coil packs not a distributor. I'm sorry, I just don't know when they began using the new stuff, it all becomes a blurr......
