Smile 1975 olds 350 engine build

Hey Guys
I have a 1975 cutlass salon with the factory 350/350 and stock rear end This is a father and son project and I don't want him to have a 500hp car that he might kill himself in. But it has 93k on it and my wife's mini van is faster so hear is what we have decided to, 1st 323 rear with a trutrac posi, 350 turbo gone through I have my own trans guy so were covered there. The problem is what to do with the motor, I would like to be around 350 hp and I was hoping someone here might have a proven combination that produces very nice results. On the other side It has air, cruise, PB and we want to keep these things, Here is my suggestion.
Block .030
rods stock reconditioned or after market?
bump compression to 9.6 forged pistons
Hydraulic roller not sure of specs
Heads should I buy Edelbrock and matching intake or stay stock, If I change intakes will the factory brackets still mount up even the cruise bracket.
The entire valve train will be roller but will the rockers fit under valve covers?
Stock rodchester carb but should I change to a 800 cfm
Well thats about it any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Your list sounds like overkill for 350 HP. Get earlier heads (no. 4, 5, 6, 7, or 7A) with the 64 cc chambers. Install the 2.000/1.625 valves used in the W-31 heads. Get a better cam matched to your combo (contact CutlassEFI for this). Use a Performer RPM intake. The Qjet is a great street carb if properly set up. Get a freeer-flowing exhaust.

Keep in mind that the 73-77 cars are the largest and heaviest Cutlii ever built. You might want to consider a built 200-4R for the lower first gear and the OD - better off-the-line acceleration AND better gas mileage. What's not to like?

The E-brock heads are nice but require some work to use on an SBO. There will be issues with the accessory bracket mounting. Note also that your stock brackets will not accommodate taller than stock valve covers, so roller rockers might be difficult to squeeze in.

Joe is correct, older set of heads is really about the only option for myself and many that own anything from 73-77.
Haha, I got a new pair of shoes yesterday with air and gel that run faster than my 76.
My wife has to get her G8 out to catch me.
Looking forward to the updates on your 75 build.

I found a 76 350, same motor as yours. I bet the compression and oil pressure are good. If they are good, then follow Joe's plan. I put milled to 55 cc #6 heads with porting and big valves, I running mid 14's, still slow but a hell of a lot better than a mid 70's Cutlass. I am currently running a 2300 stall, 2004r and 3.42 gears. With short tires I run 1850 rpm at 60 mph. With your stock 15's you could go 3.73 no problem. I should be in the 13's with a Cutlassefi custom cam and a PTC 2800 stall converter. I currently have the lame Edelbrock Performer cam, don't consider any of their cams. You also need to run an electric fuel pump and need the heads milled from to at least 70 cc with flat top pistons.
