1957 361 J2 Vacuum pump specs

Can anyone tell me how much vacuum I should be seeing from the vacuum pump on a 371 J2? I am troubleshooting the original vacuum wiper motor and it seems there is not enough vacuum to make it work.

My vacuum pump does not work, but my engine vacuum is about 20". My wipers work great if I turn them on. I do not pray for rain, but they do work well.

Have you lubed the neoprene wiper inside the wiper motor? Sometimes that will free It up enough that they will work. In a pinch during a rain storm you can remove the passenger side wiper blade and often the lesser friction will get you home with one wiper. Or just get a Newport Engineering electric conversion and never worry about it again....Tedd

Hey Tedd. Didn’t lube it… opting for the electric conversion
