1955 old super 88

Just repainted my intake manifold. Can someone tell me why the paint is burnt in the middle?

I’ve only put about 100 miles on the car since rebuilding.

From: Poteau, Ok

That is where the exhaust crossover is, it will always discolor the paint due to the heat.
