Can this be turned off in the settings some way? I have spent lots of time trying to post things only to have my post go up in smoke, these features do not seem to play well on an iPad. I want only the thread I am looking at or working on to display. Infinite scroll just needlessly complicates things.

 

Yes. Go to User Control Panel then Edit Options. Towards bottom of page in Edition Options find Thread Display Options. This is where you can turn Infinite Scroll ON/OFF.

I'm not a fan of the infinite scroll either, mine is off. The related threads sometimes can be helpful, so I leave it enabled.

 

Im glad it isn’t just me! It just seemed like what I was trying to post got tangled up with a Related Thread and I would loose a half hour of work trying to make a decent understandable post. Norm to the rescue! Worked well for me just a few minutes ago. Thanks Eric. Steve

 

Steve - Be mindful you can (also) change the thread display mode, number of posts to show per page & default thread age cutoff from the default values. Changing any one or several of the default parameters can reduce page clutter. This can be a benefit if an end-user spends the majority of time viewing the site via a mobile device e.g. phone, tablet &/or laptop. It's a benefit these parameters are able to be configured via the end-user. Why this is a benefit is because (historically) the viewable landscape of a web page was initially designed to function optimally for a desktop PC monitor (w/ a large viewable landscape); yet, there are some variances in the type of Browser, as well. Anyways, you might consider some additional changes to your viewable landscape which I mention.
