Ad Blocker Plus is not working anymore

For some reason Ad Blocker has quit working and I'm again getting the popup ads when my cursor crosses over the blue highlighted words. Anyone else having this problem and does anyone know of a fix?

The blocker download shows up in my programs( so its still installed) but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to stop the ads. This is very irritating....Tedd

Started again on my desktop computer as well. But my laptop seems to be fine and they're both setup the same way. Ad blocker needs an update maybe?

This is with chrome also. For the past 6 months its been heaven with no ads at all now I'm back to dodging around to avoid the highlighted words....This sucks....Tedd
PS.
I think I'm going to try and re do that download and see if that doesn't do something. I'll let you know if it works.

Uninstall Ad Blocker first. Restart the computer. Then re-download. Start with as clean a slate as possible.

Tedd, I have chrome and mine did the same thing a few months ago. I think that free version of adblocker expires if you don't buy the deluxe version. I may be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere. It is probably worth buying to avoid that crap.

No problems here, I have been using the free version with Firefox for about a year and a half.

Not any time recently ...

But I recall a couple of times with Firefox where ABP turned itself off & I had to toggle it back on.

Speaking of antiques (which need not equal that old for a PC) ...

Last year when my main desktop's motherboard went flaky (mid 2006-ish build) .....

I was forced to put an old early 2002-ish Gateway back into service as a backup PC/wife duty.

Intel 850 chipset.
Socket 423 single core P4 1500.
Upgraded the video card from a 32MB to a 128MB ATI 9600 video card (CraigsList).
Upgraded the previously upgraded 512MB of RDRAM to the max it could take - 2GB (eBay).

Originally ran just WinXP on it ... now it's dual-boot running Win7 since April (the end of XP updates).

Not a chrome fan - so it runs Firefox.

While it gets the job done but ...

You pretty much need to run it EVERY day whether you really want to or not, as it's not a system that can walk-talk & chew gum at the same time.

If you don't use it every day, updates will start to pile up & it will generally take at least an HOUR plus with a MAXED OUT CPU to bring everything back up to date. (don't even THINK about trying to do anything else when this happens)

To think back in early 2002 that setup with the original 32MB video card & 128MB of RAM was the shizznit.

I have been using firefox with adblock for several years on win xp - no real issues at all.
However I keep the auto update turned off. If it updates on its own, it could be turning itself off.

Working finally

I had a virus and had to have my computer cleaned out. It appears that my virus blocker (Norton) had expired (my fault but I saw no prompts that informed me of its expiration though) and my computer loaded up with crap.... all fixed and good to go.... Tedd
