A friend I work with has been telling me for months about a 64 convertible F-85 that is just sitting in an old man yard. He said it has a dent on the on driver door and the dash was rusted pretty bad from what he can remember. My question is where can I get parts for this car?
I edited your post to reflect the correct year. It really depends on the parts, power train mostly through your local parts store or internet supplier with the exception of the rocker arm assy's. Body sheet metal/trim comes off parts cars. Weatherstripping is available repro. Some parts are common with other years. Upholstery and some trim parts should be available repro while others from donor cars.
Much of the sheet metal is unique to the 64 Cutlass line. Inner sheet metal, like the floor pans and cowl, are common across all 1964-67 A-body cars, and since repros are made for Chevelles, those parts will also fit a Cutlass. That's good news for the cowl and floor pan. Depending on how badly the dash is rusted, the Chevelle repair panel for that area may or may not work, as the dash panels are not identical.
Nearly no external patch panels are sold for the 64 Cutlass line. Good used sheet metal from desert southwest parts cars is your only option.
Take a good, hard, realistic look at the amount of rust and your ability to repair it. It is almost ALWAYS less expensive to start with a better car in the long run.
As stated no repop on body line sheet metal floors and trunks are if its rusted lots of work good thing I did my own with help from a friend I added up the hrs over 2000hrs
I had to make my rear quarters as they are hard to find and expensive once you do as shipping kills it
That is beautiful Oldstata!!! I'm still thinking on it. He doesn't have a title so I would have to get a bonded title. And he has no key for the ignition.
Trunk floor is completely shot. He said all it needed was an alt. Bracket but the motor is all rusted. No spark plugs, water pump, radiator, fan etc. He also stated that the top was new but it's been sitting outside for thre years.
The front seats with head rest are not original, "64 and "65 cars are rare. Metal as stated above is hard to come by, your Cutlass would be the only one at car shows for sure.
That belt line trim is super hard to find and goes for a good amount of coin
the key joe could possibly get one made for you or a lock smith
the trunk isn't that hard to do to be honest if the quarts are in good shape
engine if your looking for a quick fix I have a good running 330 in mine that you could hear run does need a timing chain done as I don't think it's ever been done and timing was fun when it changed the distributor lol I would sell cheap at the end of the season as it will be going to a 455

What kind of transmission do you have in your car? Would a th350 work?

The TH350 is nearly a bolt-in replacement for the Junkaway two speed. External dimensions are identical, as is the yoke and driveshaft. The only issue is the need to hook up a kickdown cable.
So the 64 does have a different water pump and radiator than the 65 so water pump would need swap or a new radiator with the correct out let would be needed
simple either way for the most part
correct me if I am wrong but aren't you the member that sold me the Eddie intake for my 455 ? Your located in Idaho if memory serves me

Yes. The 1964 Cutlass line has the one-year-only water pump with the inlet on the driver's side. Because of this, the timing tab is also 1964-only, on the passenger side, and the balancer is unique to match (it's marked for that timing tab location). Of course, all the accessory brackets are 1964-only and actually are A-body only, as the J88 used different brackets on the 330 that year. Yes, the radiator is also unique. You can swap everything over to the 1965 configuration, which uses the 1965-1990 water pump style and timing tab location.
