Mecum Kissimmee 2017
Eight Olds across the stage so far and not one sale in the first weekend.
Yeah, the really nice cars go across the block NEXT weekend but these are the cars that 95% of us are driving. One of particular note is the 69 W31 with "paperwork" that either couldn't have been legit or the market is just really soft right now. I would think the original sales order would have documented this car. The restoration probably cost twice the $30k that it was bid to.

The right people weren't in the room but in general I don't think W31's bring the money, especially automatic cars.
I personally like the red interior but the red stripes over white might not be everyone's taste

Not to go off on a rant - but is there a more overused term in the hobby than resto-mod?
& how bad of a wheel choice is this for this car?

"numbers matching"
"barn find"
"muscle car" (when referring to a small block, 2bbl Impala, for example)
Shall I go on?

Definitely not my first choice for this body style. Plus, I thought only the Poncho 400 motors got the "T/A 6.6" decal. 403 cars got the "6.6 LITER" decals.

That thing is hideous.....I really don't like the wheels on it either. The steering wheel wrap is a bit much too. Joe is right the 403 got the 6.6 Litre on the shaker scoop. A friend of mine had one of these disco machines when we were in school. Don't get me wrong I do like them but, they look better stock imo.

I get a kick out of these threads about auctions. When an Olds gets bid up to an obscene price, everyone whines about how the hobby is being ruined by rich fools. When an Olds doesn't raise a high-enough bid to sell, everyone whines about how Olds doesn't get any respect.
