1970 w30 4 speed in the window

Hi I'm looking at 1970 442 W30 4 speed . In this condition what should the value be ? original parts on the car are 256 carb , 977 distributor ,37 amp alternator , W-intake , f heads , block with one piston & rod missing , 4 speed , 391 Rear axle .
Ben in storage 30 plus years ,last registered 1980 . Just looking for value on the car ? In this condition .

Does it have the broadcast card or any documents to prove it is a W-30? Even if you know it is one, documentation has a big affect on value. From what I am seeing it has a very strong value in parts alone, If it has documentation the value will go up significantly. Is the engine and transmission original numbers?

This may be a California emissions car.

Nice find and nice color combo. Restored value is really up there so you can use that to gauge what its worth not (- cost of restoration). Either way, subscribing to this thread to see what happens. Always nice to read about how W30s are still tucked away ready to be brought back.

Check & double check everything the guy says to confirm it's #'s matching. See if you can get a hold of one of those cameras you can snake down into the block & look for damage. It may be my eyes but does it have an A/C dash in it?
Value I wouldn't start at $18K. I'd start lower & work your way up. Value depends on what you want to do with it?

That's the correct dashpad setup for a non-AC non-post coupe car. Used the same pad as an AC car but with different vents on each and a filler plate in the upper middle.

Post coupe cars got the "smoothie" pads. EDIT: I meant to say, as Scott mentions below....NON-AC post coupe cars. (Good catch Scott!...thanks)

Pad must have had something heavy sitting on top of the gauge area based on the amount of sagging there....that or you have some REAL MEAN sunshine out there

mobileW-30,
Some of us would love to see and hear more about this seemingly unmolested car. If you are able, post more pictures -- including the documentation, VIN, Fisher Body cowl tag, etc. Thanks.

OK I think I know about this W30. Some ? to confirm

Is this car in Reno. NV?

If so I have seen this car in his garage and confirmed VIN, carb, block, trans, and rear end is numbers matching when I was there in Reno in 2011.

Davebw31 yes the car in Reno . The one you looked at . The color on it now is first owner's highschool colors because the factory color is 14 14 and black stripes faded out from SO CAL sun and smog back in the day . The piston and rod went through pan when the second owner raced a turbo Porsche onto the 5 freeway . the second owner said he beet the Porsche but as you can see the results .

He paid somewhere around $450 or $850 because of the front end damage. I know it was under $1,000.00!
