Test driving wheels and tires
A few friends have been suggesting I change the way my Cutlass sits and put some larger tires on the back. I agree about the tires and would like to get the back up just a little.
One of them offered to lend me some wheels and tires to show me how the Cutlass could look. Took him up on the offer today.
Here are before and after.

That looks like a 180* difference.
Great that you could do a test fit that way.
You didn't ask but I'll offer an opinion, the front tires look a little too beefy to me. If you decide to order up a similar combo for your car, I'd go a little smaller tire on the front if it was me.

I like the look of Cragers, its just I never had good luck with the wheels. The quality is just not there, they were either out of round, wobble, or took a ton of weight to balance. Maybe I just got a slew of bad ones over the years.
I have never had any problems with an American Racing product.

That is so strange because in 39 years I've never had a issue like the ones you mention. I did always buy mine new. They do have a short term defect warranty. There also not a good rim to buy used ever.. They do need to always be cleaned because the material in the inside center will pit just as easy now as back in the late 70's. Also there still cheap and can easily be replaced. And really after all these years nothing looks better on a classic Muscle car. There is a period for classic Muscle cars (late 60's to mid 70's) that just can't be touched when it comes to the all around looks on classic Muscle cars. And when that time was on us it was always a Crager SS wheel on the cars. Of course this is just my opinion.
