Transmission lines 700R4

All, I have a 1991 700R4 transmission in my 1969 convertible Cutlass and a 455 soon to be put in. The transmission lines going to the stock 3 core radiator for cooling were put in by the transmission shop and are just hand bent tubes to make it work. I would like to clean up the appearance with new lines. Does anyone know if Olds TH350 or TH400 lines from Supercars Unlimited, InlineTube or anyone else will mate to the input and output fittings of a 700R4? Thanks.

Jim

The line fittings are 1/4 NPT (same as TH350/400), so the lines should fit right on. I can't say if they are in the same relative location on the trans case though.

To clarify, the threads in the trans case that the adapter fittings screw into are 1/4 NPT. The hard lines use inverted flare nuts that screw into these fittings, and they are the same for all GM automatics of that vintage. The lines may need to be bent a little to mate up with the 700-4R, but they will be close.

jimvbills, I went with black braided hose and fittings on the 64 F-85 Pro Touring build. Can be a little pricey, certainly overkill for what little pressure is put on them but the look is clean, very flexible to work with especially on a non original build. In one pic notice the lines are running along the pass wheel well. Just a thought....

Hopefully they are not as different as the 2004R, very different angle vs TH350. Any reason for 700R4 instead of the 2004R? You will burn the tires off in first, hopefully it is beefed up with the good sun shell among other mods.
