Edelbrock carb to an Olds throttle
Hey everyone, so after looking at my Edelbrock 1406 I've noticed ALOT of play in the throttle. Come to find out, the throttle cable setup must be incorrect because I looked at the linkage on the original and where the throttle connects is different. The original is ribbed as pointed out. But I also saw where the throttle return spring was hooked here instead, in other pics. If some of you have pics of the correct or similar set up PLEASE HELP. Thanks!

First use this in the hole that you have your spring attached to and attach the spring in the small hole below it.

Then try this in the end of your cable so it will fit on the stud.

I just used a bolt and nut w a plastic spacer in the hole where your return spring is. The olds cable rode on the plastic spacer so it would move smoothly. The return spring on mine was on the bottom thrttle arm and attached to the lower part of the throttle cable Brkt. The set up worked fine but I have a qjet on it now.

And this

You can also screw the stud above into this if you want to use the large carb hole.

And Randy posted this one earlier that will work in conjunction with your current stud.
