32 Olds 5 window
There is a 32 Olds 5 window for sale locally. It's mostly all there and the body has been fully done but not painted. It has a 9 inch and Chevy 350/700r4 in it as well. They wants 25k which is way higher than I feel it's worth but then again the car is rare. Any thoughts?

I don't see it bringing that either.

I think that that car would command that price in original restored condition. It is a project car for $22500, and does not carry the W30 badge (with papers), '53 Fiesta, or 1911 Limited. It will need everything whether you went custom, or correct factory and would never be "original". I don't fault the seller for trying to maximize his Capitol but personally think that it is very optimistic.

Not quite the cool factor, but if you want a vintage car project I'd consider this one a good deal. 1936 Oldsmobile for $3500. There's a lot of old iron that's not rusted away out here in the Western states.

I totally agree. Sedans are ok but lack cool factor to the masses of street rodders. Now sedans make good crusing cars for the family street rodder. Street rod prices are hard to compare as what level of car the finished car will be. That car is near $18,000 in my opinion. Why is because it is that hard to find a olds coupe that year. When done it could be $35,000/60,000.

Don't get me wrong, I love ford coupes and 40 fords as well. I also love the look of the 49/50 mercs but I live the fact that this is a true Olds coupe! I've never seen one before and frankly I never knew they existed!

Any one can get a ford or a chevy! Not a olds, not a stude, ect.High end guys want those hard to find cars because they stand out.

Given how rare old oldses are, I'd say 25k is a good price for that. I'd bet that the lowest you can bargain that olds for would probably be around the 21-23 range. That would make a nice street rod BUT that chevy 350 has to go lol. A high compression olds 350 or 455 would be nice! Sorry, it's just that a Chevy in an Olds makes me cringe >.

I feel as though the price for this '38 is steep for the condition and driveline, but still a better foundation than your '32 for the money.
