engine hood insulation
engine hood insulation
So I'm new here, but I'm here out of necessity. I've searched high and low to try and find hood insulation for my 84 Olds 88 and I can't seem to find it anywhere. The old hood liner is falling apart and needs to go. Its GROSS. But I don't want my car to be all noisy. Is there some magic genie I have to ask to get a big sheet of hood liner and some push clips
Help!

You could also try Fusick, Year One, Parts Place, OPGI...

P.S. I'm keeping the last two wishes for myself.

I have yet to install some since I'm in the same jam as you seem to be...I can't find any for my 98.
Good luck.

Underhood Liner
This is an old thread but I am curious as to how things went with the replacement hoodliner.
I am going with a two fold solution. I am more concerned with sound than heat as I only have a 6cyl in my 1980 Cutlass Supreme.
First, I am trying some stuff called "Damplifier" which will stick to the underside of the hood itself (or Dynamat) in between the support member ribs. I plan on wrapping the ribs and overlap the Damplifier material with an adhesive tape I saw made by Dynamat to keep it tight.
Next I will replace the original hoodliner with a brand new one as I think it keeps the look old school.
If that doesn't keep it quiet nothing will! The car runs quiet anyway but I want it silent LOL.
