Need speedo right angle adapter for 4 speed

Hello Everyone, I am llooking for the right angle speedometer adapter that is at the Muncie M20 side of the speedometer cable. I’m not having luck locating this part or a replacement. Anyone have one, know where to get one, or suggested alternate part?

Need speedo right angle adapter for 4 speed

It would help to know what year your car is, what gear you have in the rear end and if you have changed from the factory tire size. I have a few of these adapters. Thanks, Bob.

Just curious. I've seen a right angle adapter when using a passenger side speedometer Muncie in a BOP A-body drivers sided speedometer cabled car. I always thought the right angled one was only so one could use the existing cable. I had a 1965 Malibu SS (first year of passenger side Muncie speedometer) and it was passenger side speedometer Muncie. I believe BOP were drivers side to 1970 then all Muncies went passenger side. Do you need the "correcter" or the cable "enabler".

Thanks for the replys. What an awesome group! I guess I would be looking for something would come stock with the M20 1968 442 Muncie with 3.42 gears. I’m not sure what size tires that I am going to end up with. I thought that you could put in the different speedo gears for what setup you have. I’m clueless I guess I just thought there would be one kind of adapter to make it 90 degree angle.

thanks let me know what you think.

thanks

If your car came with a 3.42 rear and still has the wide ratio M-20 than the correct ratio adaptor is 1.1320.
They were made by Stewart -Warner.
Mine was broken when I got my '69 and I needed the same one. I hate to tell you It took me 20 years to find one.

I was using a right angle adaptor that i bought years ago for the tach on my Corvette. The tachs are gear driven off the distributor, as it turned out i was better of without it on the Vette. So adding a Gear Vendors OD to my car seemed to put the speedo cable in a bit of a bind and i used the tach drive adaptor. It worked great until it came apart. Any Corvette vendor would have it, Ecklers, Mid America, Zip. I ended up pulling my cable up some and it fit after all on the OD, so i never bought another adapter. Not sure why it came apart, it looked pretty stout, but it did. They do not change the ratio its just one to one.
Hope this helps

So the adapter 35tac is talking about on EBAY in the post prior to mine, is the same as i used, If you get one perhaps you should lock tite the threaded parts so it dosent come apart.
Steve

This is what I was talking about so a driver's side cable would reach a "passenger" sided transmission. I believe BOP had driver's side Muncie transmissions till 1970 then they went to the Chevrolet styled passenger side which Chevrolet started in 1965, jmo.
