Intake manifold

I’m new to this forum as well as engine rebuild. I was always working on body work but want to start learning about motor work. I have a 68 Olds Supreme 350. I want to replace the intake manifold do I need to take out the distributor? Looking at the manifold doesn’t look like I need to but want to make sure before I do any damage to the motor during or after the manifold is installed

Some remove it, I do not. A nice advantage over the sbc, one less thing to go wrong.

If the engine is in the car, take the oil filler tube of, and makes putting the manifold on much easier. Leave the distributor in.

Carb hook up

So finally got the the intake / carb installed. The problem I’m having now is the throttle cable is way bigger than the ball stud. I really don’t see a ball stud that big that will screw into the carb. Any suggestions?
Looks like I have to purchase an after market bracket for the cable as well. If I use the original cable bracket the cable isn’t straight. Any suggestions???
its a Edelbrock manifold and Edelbrock carb 1406.
Thank guys.
