67 442 body off frame
Some if you may know I bought this 96k 67 4 speed 442 in Elgin Oregon in July 2017. Car was bought in eastern Oregon and was there it’s entire life.
The guy I bought it from owner since 1979. He had it painted in 1999 base clear and never put it back together. In that time it had succumbed to some rock chips and one ugly ding on the RR quarter panel. Like something fell off the wall, took some paint with it.
Interior was shot, but included a carpet kit and headliner with the purchase. I started to wet sand buff the paint and it started to come around. It had a drivers floor pan put in with rivets at some point so I decided to have a guy I know actually weld the pan in. The car other than that is EXTREMELY rust free. I haven’t fought any bolts at all taking things a part.
I got the seats redone and the headliner and carpet in, and paint buffed by my friend who does restorations out of his house.
The engine smoked and #5 had 150 psi. Motor is out a part and at the machine shop now. We took the trans a part and are doing bearings and synchros.
I want to paint the chassis, clean up hard lines, clean up the floor pans, fire wall, etc. So that’s where I am now. Pictures shortly

Very nice. Purchasing in Elgin it should be a very dry and rust free car. My daughter lives in La Grande. Where are you now? would love to come see it some time if you are in the area.

While we rebuilt my 4 speed Muncie I identified it as an m21. While combing through my FSM tonight it seemed to show that the 3.55 rear end ratio mandated wide ratio m-20. Oddly my diff cover had some sort of sticker on the cover that I couldn’t read, like either the cover or whole rear end came from a parts department. It is also a open diff. Could you get a 3.55 open diff with a close ratio Muncie in 67?
