Wasn't sure what this was for and seller did not know,But I made a guess. Worked good on window roller rivets, but throat was too shallow for one on the quarter window.
Had 2 of these buried in toolbox for many years. Don't have a clue where they came from or how I ended up with 2. Sold one on E-Bay for 65 bucks.
50s Mopar tool.

Good find.
Anybody finding any specialty factory tools (no matter what car brand), this would be a good place to post it. Many tools for old steel are not available new. They can also be hard to find on E-bay as sellers do not know their purpose.
I scored a lot of Kent-Moore tools a few years ago when GM declared bankruptcy and many dealerships closed. Lots of these tools ended up on ebay. I've managed to collect a full set of the special tools for the 200-4R. Scored the special tools to R&R the oval bushing on the rear of the lower front control arms on Cutlii. Of course there's that Burroughs Tool front spring compressor that goes inside the front coil springs and the "jackscrew" ball joint separator.
I've also gotten many tools for my 1999 Chevy truck, like a complete set of 4L80E tools, fuel injector pulse tester, and a number of breakout boxes for the wiring.
It's a tool that plugs into a wire harness, usually at an existing connector, and "breaks out" test points to make it easy to measure voltages or signals with a test probe.

Thanks. So it can connect in a harness and allow one to check voltage or signal to and from a sensor or device? Sure beats hacking into the wire or connector.
Close family friend & long time retired GM mechanic has helped me work on at least a dozen older cars over the years. He owns a nice collection of Kent Moore SPX factory service tools that he lets me use from time to time. By far one of the most valuable tools when rebuilding the stock suspension components on these cars is the Kent Moore J-21474 Control arm bushing service set. We've used it a lot. You'll need to use a liberal amount of grease on the threaded rods to keep them from getting stripped. I've been able to save them by threading them into the correct die. An impact wrench & a hydraulic press make bushing removal & replacement a snap. In my opinion the most difficult bushings to remove are the 2 located on top of the differential housing. When removing them on my 8.2 10 bolt (in the car) I had to stack some aluminum rings & grind off a small edge to clear the web seen in the pics
One on E-bay right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kent-Moore-J...463570&vxp=mtr
More then I want to spend, but wish I had one. Need to do this. Have done front a-frame bushings, but have no experience with coil spring rear suspension. Little GM background.

Picked up this Ammco brake drum micrometer a few years back. It accurately measures the inside diameter of the drum. It also checks drums for "out of round". I take it to the wrecking yard for the 50% off sales. I've found many that were barely used. I also got the Ammco rotor mic & run out gauge from the same guy... old mechanic. Traded a set of used 14" tires for everything believe it or not.

I use this for cutting the cheese. As men you know that cutting the cheese at the proper time or even the most inopportune time essential for a good laugh. This baby hails from the 1950's and I recently had to repair the wire. I used a guitar string.

That looks like a chain break, to me. I have one for my dirtbike that is similar in function and very close in appearance.

Is there a special socket for removing the body to frame nuts on my 1962 Starfire convertible? Or do I just extend a 5\8 socket and hold the end of the bolt with a 5\16 socket.

FYI I needed a low range torque wrench for some recent work and found this: ACDelco ARM602-3, 3/8"drive Digital Torque Adapter. Measured torque range of 3 to 59 ft-lbs (4 to 80 N-m); it also measures in in-lbs and kg-cm. I used it for many of the lower inch-pound measurements I needed and also to verify the torque setting on my 50 year old Craftsman 10 to 150 ft-lb clicker at 50 ft-lbs, it measured 49.4! Available through Amazon and others, see it in action on you tube. Two higher range versions are also available.
If you've ever had to install an oil pump pickup, you know what a pain it can be without the $70 melling tool. Looks so easy on the melling tec video. And by the way no gasket or sealant according to melling during pump installation. After numerous trys with the freezer trick, the 5/8" open end wrench, searching the internet for tips. I came across where one guy had notched and formed the end of a brass pipe nipple and used a stainless hose clamp to keep it in place and to prevent the pipe from spreading. Using his idea and expanding on it with a 5/8" split collar from my local ACE Hardware. I clamped the collar right above the bulge in the tube, placed my notched pipe nipple on the collar and couple firm knocks with the ball peen and viola. One firmly planted oil screen pickup. I know it works as I just did it today on my freshly rebuilt 425.
The oil pump tube fell off. I was running my 64 Cutlass in the 70's with a 425 Olds and when I hit third gear in my 400 trans the oil pressure would drop off to O then it came back up to 60 lbs. I ran it again the same thing happened, I asked a friend about it. He said your pick up tube came off so I pulled the motor up and out and pulled the pan and that pick up tube laying on the bottom of the pan. I got it welded up never did that again. It ran 12.50 at 110 MPH. I worked at Cat. for 13 yrs and doing the fuel injection we had this one tool a open 1/2" wrench the tip was ground off so you could only tighten like a speed wrench it worked great. I'll look to see if I still have it and post a pick on classicoldsmobile not this site to hard to post pics.
Here is a good tool tip for those needing to remove the old undercoating from anything. I am in the process of removing it from under the body and thought that a Oscillating Saw with the scraper blade attachment would work. WOW takes it off like melting butter, just let the tool do the work and not force it. Can be difficult around the rounded areas but finding the right angle and speed makes this job so much easier. I did the drivers and passengers side floor board areas in about an hour and a half. There is a light coating left in some areas but a wire brush will take it right off without the mess of undercoating all over the shop.
