68 Cutlass Trim Info

I bought my car without much of the exterior tr, stainless, badges, etc... It is a 68 and vin decodes to a Cutlass Supreme. Is there a good reference to tell me what mouldings, etc are correct for my car? Or some pictures of a reference car?
Thanks.

You don't say what body (Holiday, Sedan, 4 dr, etc..) but the main thing for Supremes is the trim is different than others like 442, F-85, 'S'.

Wheel trim rides away from edge of lip leaving some body visible between lip & trim where the others' trim is right on the lip.
And they have the rocker trim.

Don't know if he still has them, but oldspackrat had a nice set of the wheel well pieces.

Of course, from the factory, the 1968 Supremes were painted silver below the stainless trim, as seen in this factory brochure. The two cars above have both been repainted incorrectly, and the more-door has the trim missing behind the rear wheels.

Holiday coupe. The picure you posted shows an emblem in the sail panel area, is that correct? I hadn't paid very much attention to 68s before I got mine, hadn't noticed one there before. Do all 68s have the same ss trim on the lower trunklid?

All '68's have the same trunk lid trim and Supremes have a CS emblem above the trunk lock as well as on the sail panel and Supreme on the glove box door.

I may be parting a 68 supreme with nice trim soon if you need it all. Won't happen fast as it is all on the car yet. Car is pretty nice overall.

68 Cutlass Trim

Hey (Luke, I think?),

I'm definitely interested in at least some of the trim, if it is in really nice shape. Do you have any close up pictures of the trunklid trim and the trim that rides up the bodyline at the top of the fender/door/qp?

I'm flexible on time, I just need to get the car done by April 1 so I can finally drive it again.

Follow up question - I see Fusick lists 67 Cutlass Supreme trunk emblem (above the lock), but nothing for 68. How different are the 67 emblems from 68? I have two holes in the trunk that need to be filled with something, if they are close enough I'll use the 67 version.

Follow up-follow up question - The "Cutlass" script on the right side of the trunk lid has a series of square holes. The aftermarket emblem shipped w/ speed nuts, but there is no access from the underside of the lid to attach them. Sections 4 & 11 in my assembly manual don't show this - am I missing a page, and how does this mount?

Thanks

SE32T is the fusick part number for the 68 trunk rocket
The Olds script is held in with barrel fasteners not speed nuts. In other words, the barrel fastener goes over the studs then is pushed into the trunk holes.

Call the vendors and ask for these barrel clips. A good body and paint supply house can have them as well.

Actually the correct barrel nuts are the same shape as the hole in the trunk lid (NOT round).. Then the nuts are pushed into the lid first and then the script because if you do it the other way around the nuts can't expand inside the hole when the script is pushed in. With the script into the nuts first, the nuts expand as the pin comes out the other side and will not fit into the lid.
