Quadrajet identification

Hi guys, searched the internet but get confused with the quadrajet identification number. Which one is the right one? the straight stamped or the circle one? Digit #6 does not refer to anything.
That carb has 3 more vacuum ports/connectors then my actual carb - what are they for?

straight stamped number next to the quadrajet logo (on the right side): 17054919 on picture #3
circle stamped number on the back: 7047687 on picture #4

What is the vacuum port/connector behind the modulator/choke pull off on the left side of the carb on picture #2
What is the vacuum port/connector in front of tge carb, above the fuel inlet (T-piece, one connects to the choke pull off, the off) on picture #1
What is the vacuum port/connector on the back. on picture #5

I hope you understand my question (my english)

ps: still waiting on my quadrajet repair book-delivery time are month 😒

thank you, br daniel

I might be able to answer a few of your questions.

As far as the carb number, I'm pretty sure it's #3, the straightline number. I also think that it's missing a digit. It looks like 7054919, but I think it might actually be 17054919. The number itself looks poorly stamped with the beginning numbers less heavily stamped than the ending numbers. It also looks like there could be a 1 just before the 7 (above the 2), barely visible. A pencil rubbing might bring it up.

I've put an arrow pointing to where I think the 1 is located.

Here's some info about carb 17054919.

I believe #5, if it's on the back side of the carb, is the connection for the power brake booster.

As far as #7, it looks like someone put a t-fitting on there so as to have another source of vacuum. It's capped off, so I wouldn't worry a lot about it. If you need another source of ported vacuum, there you go.

I don't know about #2, but I have found this video helpful:

Three is the ID number. 17054919 is a replacement (service) carb for a 1973 Chevy pickup (C/K 10 or 20) with a 350, 49 state applications.

Are you using this on an Oldsmobile engine? Might take some work to get it to work properly. Linkage attach point, choke, fuel line. Good luck with your project.

Yes, will use it on a 1966 330 olds Engine. Fuel line should not be a huge issue. The linkage and choke could be a challenge. Any tips on that? Can i use the linkage of my Original carb?

How do you know all that stuff? Searched on that for hours. Thank you very much Joe!

Daniel, I personally like the 77-80 quadrajet castings the best (pictured), they have electric chokes or are easily converted, externally adjustable metering rods, and a better float setup. If you end up using the one you have, check all gasket surfaces with a straight edge, since they can tend to warp from overtightening. Good luck with your project.
