Wheel and tire size data base, please post yours
We get a lot of questions for wheel and tire size data. Please post year model of your vehicle, your wheel size with backspacing and offset and tire sizes that are mounted on your car. Any year/model Oldsmobile car info is welcome. Mention any issues with this particular setup and anything you may have done to correct it. Pictures are a plus. If we can get enough info I'll make it a sticky.

Issues: None so far with just front passengers. Thought rears are really close fit, measured and did choice of rear-tire size depending on that.

Basically stock suspension with Moog 5536 front springs and PST "442" rear springs.
Old setup:
Front and rear 245-60-14 on factory 14x7 SSIII wheels.
New setup:
Front and rear 245-60-15 on factory 15x7 SSIII wheels.
Old 14" wheels / tires vs. new 15" wheels / tires.

67 442 with new stock replacement springs these pics are after it settled about 6 months. running air left bags in the rear with just enough air to keep the car level and it handles so much better now with those and the JGC steering gear. Running 70-72 Rally 1 14 x 7 with 245/60sr14 T/A radials all the way around. I like to be able to rotate them. I am very pleased with this set up.

Front big block springs with 2 coils cut out and another 1/2" with a tall ball joint, 19x8.5 with 245/45 tire, rubbed the frame at full lock and tire rubbed top of fender well if I hit a decent dip in the road.
Rear stock springs with 2 coils cut out, 19x9.5 6" back spacing 275/40 tire no issues but wheel looked to far in the fender.
Currently have spring spacers in the front and bags in my rear springs to make it more driveable on the street and 1" wheel spacers all around. Only issue now is the front tires rub the fender at full lock.

The 67 is sold and now in Boston, new home, great new owner, have 235x60x15 on Cragers in the front, stock back spacing, 2 inch drop springs, rubs a bit in the front in hard turns or extra passengers. Should have done my math better. The rear stock spring height large 275x60x15 no issues except on a hard launch its fun and a challenge keeping the car straight!

165-80-15 in the front on a 15x5 rim .1 in. drop in the front. 275-60-15's drag radials out back on a 15x8 wheel.
Lakewood 90/10 shocks in the front with moroso trick springs and no sway bar.
Lakewood 50/50's in the rear with 442 springs with an air lift bag in the right rear with home boxed lowers and a sway bar.

1985 Monte Carlo SS ( could apply the same info to the Cutlass G-bodys)
Wheels
Front and Rear 17 x 8 Cragar SS 3.5 back space
Tires:
Front :245/40/17
Rear :275/40/17
suspension factory specs
wheels and tire combo would not work with a lowered set up. the combo is flush with the wheel openings.

I have Eagle Alloy 058s on it. They are 15x7 with 4" backspacing and 0mm offset.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...5750/overview/
The tires are P235/75 R15 General Grabber HTS. It was quite difficult finding a tire in this size that wasn't a knobby SUV / crossover tire. It originally had J78 bias ply tires from the factory but I wasn't interested in OE tires.

I've got 15x7, 4 inch BS on the front, and 15x8, 4.25 BS on the rear. The tires are all 215/70/15's. I wanted an OEM appearance, but the rear tires are essentially useless off the line. Needless to say, they do not rub anything at any time. I'm currently trying to calculate a size for the largest tire possible, to fit the rear.

On the coupe: 15X8 all around with whatever the stock backspacing is with these wheels. Can't remember. Stock coil springs all around but with one coil cut on the fronts. Cooper Cobras 255/60/15 No rubbing whatsoever.
On the Vert, stock steel wheels with Diamondback (Pirelli) tires 225/75/15. Sidewalls are smooth of lettering and the whitewalls are 1.5". One coil cut all the way around. (aka: The Gentleman Man Drop)

67 Cutlass Supreme, with 235/55R17 (17x8) and 295/45R18 (18x10)
Mustang Bullitt wheels from 1994-2004, with zero offset, used a 1 inch adapter to get to zero = room for big brakes (one day). Plenty of clearance in the back, no scrubbing or contact of any kind, and I drive it pretty hard, over speed bumps and such. Fronts will sometimes scrub when wheels are at full turn and bouncing hard at the same time, but otherwise no issues.
67 Cutlass, 295/45R18 and 235/55R17
Fronts are 235/55R17 (17x8 zero offset 4.5" backspace) 27.2" tall 9.3" wide
Rears are 295/45R18 (18x10 zero offset 5.5" backspace) 28.5" tall 11.6" wide

My 70 has 17x8s with 0mm offset, 4.5in backspace all around. 255/50 in the rear and 235/50 up front. I tried 255/50 all around but the fronts rubbed the top of the wheel well when turning and encountering any sort of bump. No issues with 235s now.

245 45 17 on 17x8 us mags bandits front, 275 40 17 on 17x9 rear on stock height 1972 olds cutlass. Lots of room front and rear - dirt cheap from summit racing. So much better looking than factory SS2s 14x6 215 70 14s. (now for sale cheap!)

Hello, is your suspension factory? I ordered same wheels with 255/50/17 all the way around on my 72 S factory suspension. You think they will fit?

17's
I wanted to switch things up from my stock SS1's with repro wide ovals
I wanted to go 17" but not get a much shorter diameter tire & I wasn't obsessed about getting the fattest tire possible.
Fr 17x7 rear 17x8 both with zero offset
Tires are 225/55 and 245/50
Tires are through Discount Tire Direct on EBay. Shipped ASAP and a great price

I went with Wheel Vintiques Series 52 (SSI) Wheels from Summit, Tires from Discount tires. Discount tire were excellent to work with. They had ordered a 15 x 10 wheel and mount a tire for testing purposes. Kudo's for them!
Fronts are 15 x 8 (4.5" BS) with 245/60's
Rears are 15 x 10 (5" BS) with 275/60's.
My axle is shifted to the passenger side a little. (close to .5 in).
the Driver's side has plenty of clearance. The passenger side just OK. I trimmed the inner wheel well trim to compensate.
I found out the hard way that my rear disc calipers were hitting the rim. I am using 1/4" spacers for now. I will grind down the calipers one of these days and remove the spacers.
