How should I handle this?
This is never good
The bottom rungs on the other end of the skid are broken, no doubt caused the skid to fall off the forklift and naturally the driver said he got it that way.
Damage
Near windshield area.
Any ideas how I should handle this? Just wanting to prepare in case I get any finger pointing. It's through eBay. Paid way too much ( my own fault) but expected the fenders in the photos I bid on thru eBay. The add said last ones but now they are selling another last set - same pictures in the add I bid on.

Here is my take, First picture I see end of pallet of damaged end to have a witness pattern of being driven over. (wood is depressed down and cracked)
IMO the box has a crush pattern of a rear bumper of a forklift. It appears that the cardboard supports for the straps have an original strap pattern that has been moved in the same direction of impact. Or it could have been ran into something while being moved.

File a claim with eBay against the seller, seller then files a claim against the shipper.
The seller contracted with the shipper, you didn't, so the exact details are between the seller and the shipper.
And if you paid too much, don't reorder.

The driver side fender looks ok so I'm wondering if I should ask for a partial refund to keep from hassles shipping back but not sure what the amount should be. The damaged fender costs ( if you figure half of total cost of both with shipping) is 1175.00. Yep, paid too much.
A. Ask for 600.00 back and keep the fender To get it repaired.
B. As stated above file the claim and see how it plays out.
C. Claim item not as described because the fenders in the pictures in the add were what I thought I was buying due to the description saying these were " the last NOS set we have".

Thanks for the replies
The seller got my pictures and says he will contact the shipper Monday. What sucks is a vintage piece no longer produced is now damaged. It sounds like the seller is pissed so I'll keep my fingers crossed it works out.

The shipper might want the entire package back to sell as salvage, to recoup some of the loss. I would purchase the other set of fenders if you need them, and let them have the original fender back. The damaged fender can be repaired, but at what cost? You might be able to buy the salvage back from the shipping company for pennies on the dollar, because many times, it costs them too much in paperwork and handling to take them back. I had some sheet metal shipped to me, and it was damaged in transit. The shipping company paid the claim, and didn't want the sheet metal back. They asked me to dispose of them locally.

I have a Fusick catalog and a OPGI and believe it or not Fusick has some items cheaper ( in those catalogs) OPGI has been good to me customer service wise though and the points help offset the price. Price wise example:
Trunk rubber mat:
Fusick - 155.00/
OPGI -174.00. Points and shipping affect the comparison too though. I like them both so far.

The box is not showing signs of them stacking another pallet on top of it.
Or another pallet tipping on to it..
We have triangle signs so they can't stack on top of them.. without crushing that ,

This ones got a dent in the crease. Not sure carrier did this one. I had asked Fusick to photograph the fender out of the box before they shipped it ( to prevent this very issue- who done it) even though they said it was boxed already. Instead they sent me a picture of the box in the carrier's truck. This is definitely pegging the drama meter.

They sent me a picture of the skid strapped to the wall on the truck when loaded. Was perfect when leaving the store. The picture I have proves that. Gets to the destination crushed. The box looks like somewhere along the way something fell over on it that was next to it.

Obviously you are a truck driver
So am I. I never damaged a load and most likely neither have you BUT like every job there are people who are less careful than they should be.

But I have damaged a load before.. I'll admit it.. but when it happened, I called it in, ASAP.. I didn't drive it to the address , or allow the driver to drive it to the address..
