'63 Starfire Dealer promo?
Hey guys, found this while out antiquing with the wife yesterday.
Still in it's original shrink wrap.
I can't find anything out about the original company "Mego"
The plastic quality and crispness almost feels like an old Johan model kit.
Thought it was pretty cool, just wanted to share.

I'm familiar with Mego for their action figures from the '70s. Their signature line was "Action Jackson" but they also made movie and TV tie-ins for titles like Star Trek, The Wizard of Oz, The Dukes of Hazzard and DC comic book characters like Superman, Batman and Robin, Aquaman and Wonder Woman. I never knew they made dealer model cars. If that's what it is, you absolutely stole it at $19. I just sold a dealer model of a '63 Buick Riviera on eBay for $137. I also have the Johan version of the '63 Starfire along with a bunch of others. Dad started working for Oldsmobile in 1959 and collected at least one dealer model for each year through 1971. I've also got a handful of Ford models from the same era. I've also got a wall display of '65 Chevy dealer models made from the passenger side halves of a Corvair, Impala, Nova, Malibu and Corvette model. Presumably was a second display made of the driver side halves as well.

That chevy displays sounds really cool. Love a pict of it.
I didn't waste a minute picking it up. I've collected a lot of old model cars over the years...especially Johans. You cant buy anything for 19 bucks anymore.

It appears to be professionally done. The models are expertly sawn in half with no rough edges showing and mounted on black velvet, which is a total dust magnet. Each model is secured to the frame with screws through the wheels. There are no markings indicating who made it, who it was presented to or anything like that.
