While it's nice to see the moniker of Hurst/Olds on the car, and with maybe the grilles, tails, and back roofline retains any semblence of an 84 H/O, it's far from something I'd clamor for. That said, the determination factor to keep pushing toward 300 mph on a "street legal" car is kinda cool. A+ for effort. But that race vs. the Camaro- he got smoked before the Camaro smoked itself. What is that Camaro's deal, streetable or strip only? I dunno. I like his drive and innovations, although not my cup of tea. More power to him, figuratively and literally if he's going to reach 300 mph, and it's a somewhat unique car for sure.

With the above comments no cudo's from some for a car still using moniker . And Oldsmobile guys just bitch because nothing available all the time. Someone generates interest and then it's negative response. Even when we had all Oldsmobile national racing events it was any body just olds powered. I guess people don't care if anything negative about Oldsmobile gets viewed. I am not a purist and racing isn't a purist sport.

I'd respect it more if it finished a drag and drive. Those guys do it in full tilt Pro Mods. The Sick Week winner averaged mid-6s, and Bailey did a 5.99 in 2019. 4500hp wagon on a Pro Mod chassis, all steel

Those of that opinion have no idea how difficult it is. Those Street Outlaw guys are making too much money to try it.

he’s done street cruises with it, stopped at local stations to fill it with pump gas.

it’s got a 30 gallon fuel cell for that reason.

Well, he's closest to RMRW, and the car and event have been around for 5 years, at least..... maybe one day.

Oh, it's call out time? In the 20 years of your hanging around, all I've ever seen of your cars is 2 yanked out of barns anda tricycle. How quick is your street car? You're starting to sound like Velcro Shoes, the older you get, the faster you were.
I don't even own a trailer.

Dont need to post anything up.

it’s public knowledge…check out the NHRA pro stock Mustangs that are running the Olds DRCE.

I didn’t say the Mustang was streetable. Just that it’s running an engine that has Olds engineering roots Infact just about every NHRA pro stocker is running the DRCE

DRCE = Drag Race Competition Engine by the way.

PS: Just because that "84 Olds" gets driven here and there on the street does not make it a street legal car. No way in hell that car is street legal.

Boy are you ever stubborn.

the guy owned it since new. He does drive it on the street the odd time…see the vids of it?

when it’s competed in fastest street car events it requires to drive to the events , just like all the other cars do.

I would feel a lot safer being in that car on the street than some old antique car from the 1920’s and they are street legally too.

quicker than yours,, I’ll guarantee you that. With a small block.

just because I’m not a blow hard and continuously posting on social media about my cars or engines, doesn’t mean your world is the only world 🤣🤣🤣

I drive this on the street sometimes..it’s not my daily driver though. This pic is from the Olds meet at Norwalk

Look I appreciate a fast car like I stated before. There is No Way that is a street legal car. Period. That's my point. That car may be fast as hell. I respect that. To say it is a street legal car is a joke. Head lights? Tail lights? Turn signals? Bumpers etc etc etc.

yep, it’s got all the legal lighting, plated and insured. 30 gallon fuel cell etc etc. I’m not sure about air bag though 😁

I have to ask , are you the official street car board of certification person who descide son what is and isn’t a street car?

maybe you should call the guy and tell him your opinion and that he shouldn’t be driving it on the street?

There's a world of difference between "street legal" and "streetable" aka, "street manners". So you can drive it from your house to the drag strip. So what? Lots of people already do that. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's practical, though. The only way I'd do it is to haul it on a trailer. If someone ran a red light and T-boned that car at 35 mph, that would be far less of a deserving disablement than to see it hit the wall at 200+ mph trying to reach 300. He put the time and effort into getting a car so it can be fast AND registered to drive on the street, so if he wants to, he can. You don't like it? Then step up and race him for pink slips.

Your car, your money, do what you want.

Damn straight he is and why I have no clue. I do know who he is now but that's not for me to say as many here know who I am a nobody bracket racer.

Hey, if coming on here ragging on me for screwing up makes you feel good, have at it. It just makes you look like another internet tough guy.
I post my stuff to share my story with other like minded people. I don't recall bragging like you say.,, but, I'm also not putting other people down for their faults or shortcomings.
Now, go ride your tricycle around the cul de sac.

If you can’t take some fun poking for that then don’t post it for the world to see.

I would laugh at myself if I did that and I know friends of mine would never let me forget it…so relax before you have a heart attack.

if I want to put you down, you’ll know it

No kidding, I am just an Olds V8 enthusiast like the vast majority here. I have bought a few used parts off him, good deals with him in Canada as well and 0 issues. If you have an opinion and he disagrees, you better have data to back it up!
