Here you go guys Rocket Racing has a new block for olds street/ strip. 4.40 bore. Yes you can use your cranks with factory journals. Maybe someone will post a link and pictures.
I will never get one, do not need for a cruiser. Having said that I am glad to see it. I think olds was the last for a aftermarket block. Wonder why they didn't do one in aluminum?
Impressive block. This is a great foundation for the serious Oldsmobile racers. While $5K may seem like a lot of money initially the "Heavy Hitters" will save time and money in the long run and increased performance also. I've only heard good comments on Rocket Racing and their Olds are fast. I'm sure there will be a crowd around Rocket Racings tent next week at the Dick Miller meet at Norwalk. I'm looking forward to seeing this block.

Who knows that might be next if this sells enough to cover cost to have these made.
Here's the only photo I could find so far. No provision for the oil fill tube, apparently, so you'd have to use the valve cover. That would be a problem for the H/O, as I'd like it to be "optically correct".
I may have just found the block for the engine to go into my 69 H/O (the original was long gone when I got the car anyway...)

No they didn't! They deleted it. Complaining to powers that rule on here is like talking to a wall you may not hear anything back. And sometimes it's like shut up inmate or it's three days in the hole no food or water.LOL

Yeah, but the problem is that the factory OAI system doesn't allow for an oil filler cap in the stock valve covers. It is a real 69 H/O, so it has to look "correct" for me. I could make something work, but I bet it isn't too difficult to simply bore a hole in the stock fill tube location.

I wondered the same thing about boring the fill tube hole. Great news for Oldsmobile racers. I am a SBO guy but there are diesel and Nascar blocks for the serious SBO guys. Great job, Rocket Racing. I have bought from them in the past will again in the future.

Unfortunately I have quite an investment in SB parts. Though not a racer this is a game changer to keep Olds alive and under our hoods. Having just had a block prepared and fully machined this price is very reasonable. Thanks Rocket Racing!

Looks like you can hook up a Chevy trany onto this block

Yes great to see new Olds parts but not to worry. The small block stroker cranks will be done soon as well as 1 or 2 other new pieces, stay tuned.
Very Nice! Glad to see this. I am into Pontiacs as well, and there has been a couple of very good aftermarket Pontiac blocks for some years now. It appears as though similar heavy duty modifications have been incorporated into this Olds block, and even including the multi-bellhousing pattern for the transmissions. Would be cool if they also introduced a short deck "small block" based on this in the future so a proper high winding 403 can finally be built to full potential.

I was a devoted BBO guy and love my 524. However, I love my 470 SBO more and it made me a convert to the SBO camp. I am not saying that the SBO is better than the BBO just that MY SBO is better than MY BBO.
I wish nothing but success to those of you who use this block for a new build. I can't wait to read about the builds that will be coming. Perhaps this block is what it will take to push me back to the BBO camp.
Can't quite yet, had to sign a nondisclosure. Hopefully be able to announce something in the next four or five months. It'll be worth the wait though I'm sure.
Looks like it's getting easier and easier to be an Oldsmobile enthusiast!

I got a stiff leg. Walking in circles. I have been buying parts from Rocket Racing until I get enough to build my 455. This NEW stronger block sounds great.
